Smart Grid Operation Platform: monitor, control and optimise the low-voltage grid

With the Smart Grid Operation Platform, utilities are ideally equipped to meet the technical challenges in low-voltage grid management. Either the steadily increasing number of electric vehicles or the expansion of renewable energies. Employees both on site and in the control centre receive the same comprehensive overview of all components, values and statuses in the network and can intervene immediately if necessary. Data provided by smart meters, IoT sensors and common telecontrol is processed and forwarded for further processing to applications in the system. This facilitates grid planning.

VIVAVIS Smart Grid Operation Platform can be integrated into every infrastructure – be it as functional enhancement to an existing installation of the grid control system HIGH-LEIT or to an independent HIGH-LEIT system used to control low voltage networks only.

Further information

The low-voltage grid, also known as the distribution grid, is an essential part of our modern energy infrastructure. The low-voltage grid, typically 230 volts in Europe and 120 volts in North America, ensures that electrical energy reaches homes, businesses and institutions safely and efficiently.

The low-voltage grid is where high-voltage electricity is converted to a level suitable for our needs. This network spans the entire country and supplies millions of households. The low-voltage grid is designed to supply electrical appliances in homes and businesses with the necessary energy.

The stability and reliability of the low-voltage grid are of crucial importance for everyday life. Power outages in the low-voltage grid can cause considerable inconvenience. Therefore, energy supply companies work tirelessly to ensure the performance and efficiency of the low-voltage grid.

The low-voltage grid also plays a key role in the integration of renewable energies into our energy supply. The decentralised feed-in of electricity from renewable sources into the low-voltage grid enables a more sustainable energy supply.

In an era in which electromobility is gaining in importance, the low-voltage grid is crucial for the expansion of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The low-voltage grid is therefore the backbone of our energy supply and plays a central role in our increasingly electrified world.
