Microsoft Security Updates January 2022 Warning
14th January 2022
On January 11, 2022, Microsoft rolled out security updates for all operating systems as part of the monthly patch day, which are supposed to eliminate numerous vulnerabilities and bugs.
According to current information, massive system errors occur in connection with some of these updates, at least on the operating systems Windows Server 2012 R2 and Server 2016 / 2019.
Therefore, we do not recommend rolling out updates KB5009624, KB5009586 and KB5009595 for systems not maintained by VIVAVIS AG for the time being.
Possible problems described so far:
- Hyper-V hosts can no longer be started on many systems.
- Domain controllers may enter an infinite boot loop.
- Loss of support for the ReFS (Resilient File System) file system format.
Further details can be found in the following sources:
For all systems that are actively maintained by VIVAVIS AG within the scope of service contracts, we have already taken appropriate measures and placed the problematic updates on the blacklist.
If you have further questions or need technical support, please contact our customer center.
